6 Sep, Ride to Dongaren, highway too dangerour to ride, trying backroads. 90km 5:26

7 Sep, Robs rd, bush camp. through back road and along highway. Bogged in sand… Nice country though. 71km 5:28

8 Sep, Leeman, back to coast road, but only tourist traffic, and much less of it, also road shoulder. Tail wind. 77km, 4:38

11 Sep Yanched NP campground. 87km 5:39, slight detour into sand, decided against it after 1 km.

12 Sep, Fremantle, Coastal path nearly all the way. 86km 5:14

31 Aug, camp 35km to Yalgoo. 95km 5:09

1 Sep, though Yalgoo, store closed (on Sundays), drink at caravan park. 82.5km, 4:36

2 Sep, Mullewa, 88km 4:18. Tail wind along highway. Stayed at caravan park.

3 Sep, though cropping land, Glendale pool camping area, packed with caravan/campers. 108km, 7:04, long day.

4 Sep into Geraldton, down to coastal plane, cropping land, 58km, 4:05 getting to town was ugly. Can see the sea, bit of a milestone really. Change from red dirt to cropping land and costal vegetation. 2740 since Alice Springs.

5 Sep, day off, washing, shave… Raining also,, good choice of day off in a Backpackers.

23 Aug, Eulumintana (abandoned) Camp, head wind not too bad, flies due to stock around. 82km, 6:12

24 Aug, to Leonora, 51km, 4:49 into horrid headwind.

25 Aug Old Agnew Road, 92km 5:35

26 Aug, tried road out back of Pinnicles Station, road does not exist according to the station care taker, he was probably a bit shocked to see me at the station. Onto past Agnew mine (got given water, and packet of snakes by miner). 81km, 5:57, hard day on rough station road.

27 Aug, along Sandstone road, with trucks transporting iron ore to Geraldton. Chatted to James with a broken air hose in his truck carrying 200t of ore on side of ride. 84km, 5:25

28 Aug, 40km to Sandstone via lookout, had morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, then departed to do another 40km to soak. 79km, 4:12

29 Aug, Camp, 78km 5:31 headwind long day, camped at small breakaway.

30 Aug onto Mount Magnate, swapped tires over, tension chain. 54km 3:03. 350 km to Geraldton.2306 km total.

picked up Sealant from post office, and swapped back/front tires to even out the where some.

13 August Depart Warburton for Rock holes, 20km 1:12, 24l of water

14 Aug, Breakaway camp, 76km, 5:11, hard day, head wind.

15 Aug, Road Camp, ~60km of bituman. Head wind most of the day, 81km, 6:07

16 Aug Arrive Tjukalirya (Doo-ka-l-ya) 79km, 4:36 picked up fuel (Opel) for stove, ~400ml

17 Aug, quarry camp, 100km, 4:59, tail wind hot day.

18 Aug Trucks early and head wind, 69km, 6:22 longest day in saddle. 25km to Limestone bore

19 Aug, pre-cosmo camp, head wind, found water in Limestone bore, 2km on from Pines rest area, 3m down bore pipe. Saw black swan injured on road. 50km, 5:11 (<10 km/hr avg).

20 Aug, into Cosmo, picked up food (shop open at 10am), onto Giles breakaway, 52km, 3:29

Changed stove fuel bottle to Opel fuel. 1l of Satellite used since Alice Springs.

21 Aug, Laverton, at end of Outback way. 60km 3:30. easy light winds along sealed road. lunch/morning tea at quarantine stop, no fruit/vegies/honey into WA, well did not have any anyway.

Covered 1704 km since leaving Alice Springs, 3-1/2 weeks ago.

4 Aug Rain overnight, ride to Ulura 40 km 2:21

5 Aug Dept Yulara, via Kata Tjuta, camp outside part, 72km, 3:41, picked up 14l of water from Kata Tjuta viewing area, cool overcast day

6 Aug Creek Camp, tail wind onto dirt about 50km from Kata Tjuta, 101km, 5:14, Camels, Sunstroke at end of day, need to watch that.

7 Aug Kaltakujara (Docker River), 84km 4:41, Camped in camp ground 1.5km from town, no water at camp ground.

8 Aug Camp by river, 64km, 4:07. Meet Lue (cyclist) who came from Esperance and was heading to Alice. Some headwind, road rough.

9 Aug Warakuna 47km, 2:30, started early, Warakuna for lunch, stayed in camp ground, shower.

10 Aug Camp, meet 2CV (citron) club with 27 cars. 84km, 4:29. Tried to help fix tire of Wannan car.

12 Aug Warburton 65km, 3:33 Tail/cross wind, arrived ~1pm. 1115 km so far in 16 days (14 days riding0.
