25 July Peters creek parking camp. 14.7 km 2:11 stopped because tired.

26 July  camp 41.8km 3:50. through Kimba for lunch (burger).

27 July 62.9 km 4:47 first long day, back roads, stayed with Bob and rose, ‘Lakeside’.

28 July 32km, 2:28 Kingaroy, Hotel for the night.

Replace missing bolt in rack.

29 July 66 km 4:34. Through back country. Nite at race track.

30 July 82km, 4:42. Onto the flat. 10km wrong turn. camp at Pelican hall.

31 July 88km, 4:39. headache in morning, slow out of Chinchilla, motel for night.

1 August 89km 5:00 Judd Lake camp. lunch at pub.

2 August, 77km, 4:15. stuck in mud on back road into Roma. Stayed in Caravan park for wash.

3 August 71km 4:00 Amby golf course camp. Hot day, started late, stomach upset around lunch.

4 August 74km, 4:28. Into some trees, stopped at Mitchell for morning tea. Mungallala pub. Headache overnight. Raining in morning.

5 August 73km, 3:45 road side camp. Kangaroo coffee out of Mungallala stopped for chat. Rain overnight.

6 August 76.5 km, 4:18 Charleville. Bush caravan park.

7 August day off

8 August depart Charleville after breakfast, last shopping, towards Quilpie. 80 km, 4:27. 10 km in town.

9 August 119 km 5:36 along to road to Quilpie, stopped for coffee at Cooladdi at approx 9am. 30km to Quilpie.

10 August 42km 2:18 into Quilpie, stay caravan park. meet The The Bicyclep PedlarMick and Jen who are moving to Quilpie.

11 August 80km, depart Quilpie,  coffee with Mick and Jen, chatting about cycle touring. Did not take euough water, bottle 4+7l not enough for 3 days. Rain over night, wet in morning.

12 August 79km 4:37 seemed like a day into head wind, or up hill. Ridge camp. mostly overcast during day.

14 August, day off in Windora

15 August 78km 4:38 depart Windora, road side camp. Picked up local cherry tomatoes and oranges from the shop.

16 August JC hotel ruins, ‘pise’ building, mud brick with tin roof. 1878. 96km 5:43 started into head wind, stopped at Morney station for water, they gave me oranges also, thanks. Road side camp in Farras channels.

17 August 1 flat, 1 plane, 5 cars. 81km, 5:29, head wind for some. Camp on flat.

ODD 19260

18 August head wind, car convoy, hot in afternoon. Hot… stopped at road camp for water near turnoff to Davenport station. 74km 5:16 Camp in open waited for sun down and flies to go before dinner.

19 August through Diamantina national park. Tail wind and cooler, very different country w/o stock. lots of birds. 92km 4:56. water and shower at np station. approx 140km to Boulia. Changed stove fuel bottle.

20 August Out to Boulia nearly, tail wind, hot, made 130 km 6:18 12 km to town. Road works, and mining looking for copper. 3 cars, some trucks, 1 drone.

21 August 18km to Boulia 56mins. Restock, new map. 12 days to Alice, flight on the 7th. Tobemory is 250km away.

22 August 71km 3:39 Camp hot, bike heavy, Sen home some more things, new book from library. Dept 11am, stopped 2-3 In shade because of heat. ODD 19645, 2021 km so far, 800 to go.

23 August 105km 5:55 windy day, tail wind in afternoon. more trashed cattle country. 80 km to Tobemorey station.

24 August 90km 3:53, 23 km/hr average, tail wind assistance. Tobemorey by 1pm. 10+4+2l water, arrived with about 4 spare.

25 August camp, departed Tobemorey 9am, rough road, still some tail wind. red country now. heavily graised. 90km , 5:25. slow on rough parts. given apple and banana, thanks travellers.

26 August along road, rough, some hills around. 100km, 6:07 otipita thurra tomorrow 30km away, store only open 10-12.

27 August along Plenty HW, into Bonya community, some food supplies  can of apricot and yogurt for morning tea.. Camp at Jervous station at 4pm. Shower was very nice. 60km 4:12. Road sandy, not so rough. Road is supposed to get better. 28 August depth Jervous station, along road, some paved. seemed to be going up hill, some head wind and hot. 86km 5:52.

29 August 56km 3:16 To Atitjere, dust road turned to new sealed road, stayed with Terry and Lea the store manager. 30 August 100km, 5:41 tail wind onto the Bins track through to the eastern Macdonald rangers.

31 August exhausted, day on sand and rough road. Hale river station closed. 90km, 7:16  avg 13 km/hr. 7km to park office.

1 September 54km, 4:49 Very wet, dirt road was slippery. To Ross River Resort, bunk house. Total 2854 km

15/11 100km, into Yalata Community, they have a store, well stocked with fresh food. This is where they moved the people from the bomb test at Maralinga.

16/12 73km Fowlers bay conservation park, camp behind beach in dunes

17/11 79km, along beach in morning, then over sand dunes to Fowlers bay and onto Penong

18/11 72km along back roads to Ceduna

The 19th and 20th are supposed to be hot, so staying put for a few days after 19 days cycling without a break, its a bit strange.

Across the Nullabor now, things are simpler now, food is available and there are towns with facilities.

19/10 Depart Albany, to East Bay Camp, 55 km, 4:13, head wind 3 km back track through water treatment plant (oops).

20/10 72.8 km, 4:41 To Wellsheat Hot day, head wind before lunch, waited till change came through caravan park on old field.

21/10 To Bremer Bay 81 km, flat road riding. local creeks have salt water from dry and farming salinity. Back tire had broken bead.

22/10 To Fitzgeralt NP 57 km 3:55, tire looking bad, repair holding

23/10 to Old Ongerup Rd, 82 km, 5:38, back to main road for awhile. Telegraph track closed due to Pyhtophra, Got water refil from Park ranger.

24/10 to Hopetoun, 90km, 5:44

25/10 To Manglinup Beach, 85 km, 4:55, cool day tail wind.

26/10 Qaugi beach camp site, 72 km,

27/10 To Esperance, 78km spedo not working, swim in morning before leaving beach, along highway for 65 km, cross wind most of the day.

15-10 54.6 km, 4:05 rolling day sun/rain all day, scrub mostly low forest final hut

16-10 49km, 3:48 Denmark, onto coast, backpackers overnight. last 15 km was very up/down.

17-10 78 km, 4:58 Tail wind nearly all the way into Albany and end of Mundabiddi Trail. Last 15 km were highway and through the industrial parts of Albany.

27-9 Depart Perth, 33 km to Maundering Weir, good cycle along heritage trail from Midland trail station.

28-9 34 km, Single track through forest, First Camp site, Carrinyah, water avaliable

29-9 34 km, Wungong Camp site

30-9 60km, via Jarradale for lunch, Hard day finished at trail hut trashed.

1-10 70.8 km, via Dwellingup for lunch, arrived at Ngounlin Camp at dark.

2-10 56km, Bivy camp, did not make next hut.

3-10 66 km, to Collie

4-10, day off, break, post some things home 2kg less to carry, thunderstorms around and rain.
